The Samsung Electronics Singapore has introduced the latest upper midrange smartphones in the A series recently. The Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 are the newer versions from their predecessor the Samsung Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A7+ launched back in January 2017.
Before we begin, both Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8+ are almost identical except the Samsung Galaxy A8+ has a larger display, more storage, RAM capacity and bigger battery capacity compared to the Samsung Galaxy A8.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities – Great for Selfies
The Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8+ feature a new 16MP + 8MP F1.9 Dual Front Camera and an impressive 16MP rear camera.
The new dual front camera made of two separate lenses is the highlight, this allows users to take good quality selfies and wefie. The front camera is even better than it’s flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 only has an 8MP F1.7 single front camera.
With the live focus on the front and rear camera, users can easily create and adjust the depth-of-field (bokeh effect) before or after taking the picture on the smartphones.
Water and dust resistant
Both devices equipped with IP68-certified water and dust resistant capabilities; same as the Galaxy S8 series and Note 8.
With the microSD card up to 256GB, the user can capture tons of photos and videos until one heart’s content.
Polished Viewing Experience
Compared to the previous Galaxy, A series phone, both smartphones come with 5.6-inch and 6.0-inch screen size options. With the Super OLED display at the display ratio 18.5:9, users can enjoy the rich colour movie quality experience and also gaming.
Both Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8+ are also the first Galaxy A series to support the Samsung Gear VR.
Samsung Pay is available for the user to make safe and secure mobile payment without worrying having to have their wallet in hand.
The users can opt for a hassle-free way to unlock their Samsung Galaxy A8, and Samsung Galaxy A8+ with the facial recognition features; with just a look.
By simply registering your facial with the front camera and enabling the feature under the security settings, consumers are ready to unlock their phone in an effortless matter.

In my opinion, the Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8+ seem to target for the Millennials group. As they may enjoy taking selfies with its powerful dual front camera, yet without needing to pay a premium price.
